Segesta: Segesta is one of the most important archaeological areas in the province of Trapani. Moving through the ruins of the ancient city we will visit the Greek Temple of the fifth century BC, one of the most monumental and preserved in Sicily and the Greek-Roman Theater located on the summit of Monte Barbaro where once the city of Segesta was located.
Erice: We will enter Erice from Porta Trapani to reach the Mother Church of Erice built in Gothic style in the early fourteenth century by the will of the Aragonese king Frederick II. Inside, its finely decorated stucco roof is one of the most beautiful examples of neo-Gothic style in Sicily. Moving through the typical streets of Erice we will discover the renowned pastry shop Grammatico, famous for the “sweets of Badia” and from here we will reach the suggestive belvedere from which it will be possible to admire the ruins of the ancient Norman Castle and a beautiful panorama facing Trapani and San Vito lo Capo.
Salt pans of Trapani: The natural reserve of the Saline di Trapani and Paceco is a protected natural area of Sicily established in 1995, which extends for almost 1000 hectares in the territory of the municipalities of Trapani and Paceco. The reserve, within which the ancient activity of sea salt extraction is exercised.
